This beloved annual event brings thrilling races, live music, delicious food vendors, and family-friendly activities to Nanaimo’s waterfront. Don’t miss the chance to witness the unique spectacle of bathtubs racing across the water! The weekend will feature vendors, food trucks, a kids zone, and free concerts.
Nanaimo Dragon Boat Festival 2025
Dates: July 12-13, 2025
Location: Maffeo Sutton Park / Nanaimo Harbour
Watch 400-500 paddlers compete in thrilling dragon boat races. A vibrant community event with a fantastic atmosphere.
Silly Boat Regatta 2025
Dates: July 20, 2025, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Location: Nanaimo Harbour (off the beach)
A hilarious and heartwarming event where teams race homemade boats made from recycled materials. This is a fundraiser for Nanaimo Child Development Centre and a huge spectator draw.
