After returning from my networking group in Scottsdale, Arizona with the top Realtors from around the world, one thing is certain, BC is a hot topic when it comes to Real Estate. A few years ago, it was hard to get stage time to talk about Vancouver Island or Nanaimo, but now it seems to be a topic of interest.

Feburary 2017 Market Report

The market remains strong with continued low levels of inventory on Vancouver Island. According to VIREB, in the month January, 245 single-family homes sold on the Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®) System compared to 258 last January, a decrease of five per cent.

2016 Market Wrap-Up and 2017 Forecast.

The final numbers are in for 2016, and it ended up being a record year in our area. Our markets annual sales volume rose 24 per cent over 2015 with a total for the board area of 6,063 single-family homes SOLD on the Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®). We ended with single-family home sales in December lower than the previous month, reflecting seasonal market conditions and inventory challenges.
