Happy Canada Day!

We have compiled the following suggestions of activities you can do with your family that are safe ways to celebrate closer to home!

Enjoy a backyard BBQ with the family cooking up your favourite Canadian meals and deserts. Burgers with poutine, bannock, maple syrup drizzled snow cones, red and white sundae (ice cream with local strawberries on top) and no celebration would be complete without delicious Nanaimo Bars. Create a Canadian Playlist

While large outdoor concerts will be small-scale for 2020, you can create your own family version by creating a playlist with your favourite Canadian artists to rock out to. Neighbourhoods may want to hire a local musician to play social-distanced driveway concerts or there are many Canada Day broadcasts happening that you can tune in to. The Great White North has some of the best musicians and to create your own playlist use this list to inspire you here.

Dress Up Your Home

Brighten your home and backyard with colourful lights, glowing lanterns, hang the Canadian flag or watch some fireworks online. Tune in to the Canada Day Evening Show to be entertained by performers from coast to coast from the comfort of your own home and ending with the best Canada Day fireworks from past years.
